Anna's Wedding

My good friend Anna got married a few weeks ago. Anna and I were sorority sisters at Clemson and both lived in Atlanta at the same time. I was with Anna the night she met her husband Bobby a few years ago, and I was honored to be included in their special day. The wedding ceremony was in Fort Mill, SC and the reception was held at the beautiful Charlotte City Club. Brent and I had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed having Rita and Jacob stay with us.

Football games

We stay pretty busy during football season! This year we started off the season by traveling to Columbia to see the Wolfpack play the Gamecocks on a Thursday evening. It was extremely hot in Columbia, but we had fun tailgating beforehand and watching the game. Unfortunately, the Wolfpack did not get the victory on the road. Our next stop during the first week of the season was to Atlanta for the Clemson/Alabama game. Brent and I had a ton of fun before the game at restaurant on Peachtree Street....the game was a different story! Clemson did not play very well and we were surrounded by very loud, rude, and intoxicated BAMA fans! Over the past few weeks, we have been to another Clemson away game, to Duke for a game, and of course back to Raleigh.

As you all know, Brent loves to cook! We always get to the parking lot early to enjoy drinks, music, corn-hole, and of course, the food!!!! Before each NC State home game the North Carolina Pork Patrol gives an award to the tailgate cooking the best pork and then shows the winner during the game on the big screen (let it be known that we usually make fun of the people shown on the jumbo tron). On Thursday, October 16th, Brent won the award from the Pork Patrol for the pork tenderloin he was grilling!!!! We won a cooler, $50 gift card, recipes, cooking utensils, and many more items!!!! We will never make fun of the pork patrol again!!!! Below are some pictures of Brent grilling and us with Caroline and Ginny Grace Buffum.

Weekend Visit

This Saturday we were able to visit with our good friends Emily and Luke Buffum and their girls. Emily and Luke drove from Raleigh to visit relatives in Concord, and we were able to stop by and meet their new edition Victoria Rose, who is three weeks old. We had a great time meeting their relatives and playing with the girls. Brent and Luke hung out in the pool with Ginny Grace and discussed sports, while I took pictures and held Victoria. We enjoyed visiting with everyone and look forward to seeing more of the Buffum family during football season!

San Francisco

I recently spent a week in San Francisco for work. It was a busy week filled with technology trainings, discipline classes, and anything else they felt like they could cram into seven days. I was able to experience some of San Fran's wonderful restaurants during work dinners, and had one free afternoon. On the free afternoon, my friend Kim and I got our tennis shoes on and walked all over the place. We ended up down at Fisherman's Warf where we were able to shop, see Alcatraz, and watch the sea lions from Pier 39. The sea lions were very funny, and I could have watched them for hours! After we shopped and took pictures we indulged at the restaurant Neptune Palace. We both had wonderful meals and great wine!!! On our way back to the hotel we passed a market and bought fresh strawberries that were the size of my palm and Ghirardelli chocolate dipping sauce! I enjoyed San Francisco, but hopefully the next time I go, it will be with Brent and not for work!!!!

Our Family

Brent and I don't have kids, but we have 4 animals that are basically our children! Each one of our animals has been rescued and are very special to us! I try not to spoil them, but sometimes it is hard, and I end up buying them a special treat or a toy. The problem with bringing them things, is now Sam (the big dog) expects something when I come home with lots of bags........that has taught me a lesson real quick!!! Instead of bringing them toys, we have begun to take the dogs for "outings" to Brusters or Starbucks. (I know....I am still spoiling them!!!!) Here are some pictures of our darlings! :)

Welcome!!!

Welcome to the Swartz Family Blog! We thought this would be the perfect way to post pictures and let everyone know what we are up to lately!

The Wedding!

As many of you know, Brent and I got married at the South Park Marriott on Saturday, June 21, 2008. We had the best time at the wedding! It was wonderful to see all of our friends and family together to help us celebrate. We truly appreciate everyone's love and support and wish we could have spent more time with each guest who was able to attend. Everyone told us that it would go by fast and it sure did! Thank you to all that made it a very special event! (And a special thanks to the Tiger Cub for making an appearance!)

For our honeymoon, we traveled 5 hours south to Jekyll Island Club Hotel and Resort. The resort is nestled all around live oaks and gardens. It was the perfect setting for a quiet and relaxing week. Brent enjoyed his first massage!!! (I was glad he enjoyed it because now he will want to join me the next time I go!) We also enjoyed walking on the resort's private beach (we were the only two on the beach one morning), horseback riding, the restaurants located on the property, and our favorite place on the pier, The "Rah" Bar!!
